MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (1993)-Pg13
This modern-day take on Shakespeare's classic features a sharp tongued woman, and the man she most loves to
hate, who are, nevertheless, tricked into a romance by scheming friends. As lovers Hero and Claudio pass time before their marriage (only a week away), they set a trap to make the arrogant bachelor, Benedick, and his rivaling banter-buddy, Beatrice, fall in love. While the plot is set in action, however, the nefarious Don Jon enters the scene, accusing Hero of infedility, leaving Claudio and Hero's nuptial affairs up in a roar. Thorugh all the chaos and mis-communication, however, they all come to realize that its all really "much ado about nothing" at all.
Director Kenneth Branagh's "Much Ado About Nothing"
is a zesty, exuberant, fun, funny, romantic interpretation of the classic
play by William Shakespeare.
The sparkling cast includes: Kenneth
Branagh, Michael
Keaton, Kate
Beckinsale, Robert Sean Leonard, Keanu
Reeves, Emma Thompson,
Denzel Washington,
Richard Briers, Brian Blessed, Ben Elton, and Imelda Staunton.
