ET: the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)-PG While aliens are out taking plant samples in the woods of Earth, they are suddenly surprised by a group of scientists. In making a hasty blast off, they accidentally leave behind one of their own, the young E.T. Finding himself alone on a very strange planet, with the help of a ten-year-old boy, Elliot, "E.T." is taken in and kept safe from the dangers of Earth. As E.T. befriends Elliot's family, the task force works relentelessly to seek out remaining evidence from the historical extra-terrestrial visit. As E.T. and Elliot set about finding a way to get him home, E.T. finds himself unexpectedly sick, and, because of his special connection to Elliot, the young boy finds himself deathly ill as well. As the two struggle to get healthy, the nefarious task force intervenes, complicating Elliot and ET's journey to send E.T. home to his family. The cast includes: Dee Wallace Stone, Henry Thomas, Peter Coyote, Robert Mac Naughton, Drew Barrymore, K.C. Martel, Sean Frye, and C. Thomas Howell. Written by: Melissa Mathison.
