GALAXY QUEST (1999)
This hilarious parody features the star cast of the once-famous sci-fi show "Galaxy Quest" coming to terms with the cancellation of their show after seventeen years of airtime. Meanwhile, the "crew"/cast are making multiple appearances at sci-fi conventions and
other PR stunts á la costume and character. Amidst their "mid-career" crisis, a group of extraterrestrials known as the Thermians arrive on Earth in search of the crew. Having taken their show for a form of reality TV, the aliens kidnap the crew, whisking them away to space where they implore the crews help in saving their race from genocide at the hands of one ruthless general Sarris and his goony armada. But are these down and out actors up to the task of doing their own stunts this time around?
The cast includes: Tim
Allen, Sigourney
Weaver, Alan
Rickman, with Tony Shalhoub, Sam Rockwell, and Daryl Mitchell.
Director Dean Parasot's comedy Sci-Fi is an instant classic.
