The Federation and the klingons compete to establish relations with the inhabitants of an alien world, while Dr. McCoy becomes the surrogate "husband" to a very pregnant alien lady.

SYNOPSIS...
The Enterprise arrives at the planet Capella IV. On the planet, Kirk works to establish trade relations with the locals. In short order, Klingon's show up and an Enterprise crewman is killed.

Kirk and company go on the run with a pregnant alien woman. McCoy delivers her child.

The Enterprise gang is able to prove to the Capellans that the Klingons, who also want to open trade relations, are bad guys. The Enterprise hammers out a trade agreement with Capella IV.
