Ferdration orphans come under the power of an evil alien and take over the Enterprise.

This episode features small children, who improbably control the Enterprise. Melvin Belli ("Whodunnit"), as the alien Gorgan, makes an unforgettable, if not exactly memorable alien. FX depicting Belli floating around the bridge of the Enterprise are rather silly.

SYNOPSIS...
The Enterprise arrives at the planet, Triacus. Beaming down, they discover that all the Federation colonists are dead, but their children are alive. Kirk beams them up.

The Enterprise crew begins seeing strange visions. The children turn out to be causing these visions, under the influence of a floating, evil shimmering alien called the Gorgan.

Kirk shows the kids some videos of their home planet, including their parent's graves. The kids turn against the alien entity, freeing the enterprise from its grip.
