PLOT SUMMARY...
While exploring a derelict spaceship, Captain Kirk is trapped in another dimension, as the Enterprise becomes trapped in an alien power grid.

QUICK SCAN...
This episode features an amazing, and dangerous, trip by Captain Kirk into another dimension. "The Tholian Web" is considered one of the better 3rd Season shows. Interestiingly, this is the only episode to feature spacesuits. The viewing of Kirk's video will, by Spock and Dr. McCoy, is a show highlight.

SYNOPSIS...
Captain Kirk and other crew members, wearing space suits, investigate the U.S.S. Defiant, floating dead in space. Due to unstable space in the area, Kirk, stuck aboard the Defiant, disappears into another dimension.

Aliens called Tholian's show up and demand that the Enterprise leave this sector of space. When Spock, now in command of the Enterprise, refuses, the Tholians begin to form a deadly energy web around the Enterprise.

Kirk's ghostly form appears to the crew. The Enterprise attempts to break free of the Tholian Web. Just as it does, it manages to transport Kirk, from the other dimension, back aboard the Enterprise.
