PLOT SUMMARY...
A transporter malfunction turns Captain Kirk into two separate people: one good, the other bad.

This classic episode offers a field day for William Shatner and his fans as he plays the good and evil Kirks. Episodes features the shocking attempted rape of Yeoman by the evil Kirk. Note the silly alien dog with the horn and antennae. Episodes like this make us realize why Dr. McCoy hates being beamed by the transporter.

SYNOPSIS...
Kirk and a landing party investigate a planet. When the time comes for Kirk to beam up, he is split into two people, one "good", the other "bad".

The evil Kirk goes on a rampage, including trying to rape Yeoman Rand. The rest of the landing party is stranded on the planet until the malfunctioning transporter can be fixed. Meanwhile, the good Kirk has a hard time commanding the Enterprise.

When the transporter is fixed, the two Kirks are beamed out together, returning as the one true Kirk. The landing party, stranded on the freezing planet, is finally beamed up.
